University of California, Irvine, is home to a medical school rich in history and a tradition that spans more than 100 years. The oldest continually operating medical school in the Los Angeles area, the School of Medicine was founded in 1896.
The 1896 Society will further engage and cultivate our alumni, faculty, staff and longtime supporters. The support raised by 1896 Society will provide the School of Medicine with the ability to ignite projects, act swiftly on new opportunities, introduce teaching technologies and create scholarships that help draw the nation’s most promising medical students to UC Irvine.
The mission of the 1896 Society is to promote an annual source of philanthropic support for the Dean and the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
The 1896 Society will serve to provide annual support to the School of Medicine in order to sustain and fulfill the vision to become a top 20 medical school.
