The Office of the Biomedical and Translational Science Program oversees both academic and administrative aspects of the Master of Science degree program in biomedical and translational science (MS-BATS).

The growing interest in evidence-based medicine, comparative effectiveness research and the science of quality-assessment and improvement makes the programs particularly timely.

As part of UC Irvine's School of Medicine, we represent an active community of diverse scholars dedicated to the highest standards of excellence in original research, teaching, creative expression and intellectual leadership. Our classes and research opportunities are conducted by award-winning faculty members who are actively involved in their respective academic, clinical and research fields and who are dedicated to students' individual success.

(Note: Students planning to apply to the school’s medical doctorate (MD) degree program must contact the school’s Office of Medical Education to obtain information regarding the school’s MD program. This office oversees only the MS-BATS degree program.)
